PORTUGAL PRAIA da Tocha Tocha Beach is a traditional fishing town

Updated: Oct 21, 2023

A local beach with calm waves and friendly people. Do you want to feel like you are on a private beach? Travel to Praia da Tocha. The parking is free and plentiful. The beach is guarded by Lifeguards from May until October. The local fishermen put out the fishing nets using a traditional wooden boat. They slowly bring the net in using an old tractor. The activity is worth watching. The best part is you can purchase fresh fish directly from the fishermen.

Tocha Beach is a traditional fishing town

The sand is soft but made of very fine pebbles that have been churning in the waves. You can collect some beautiful rocks in the water along the edge. The colors are striking and each rock is unique

. You can collect seashells here too, mostly clam shells.

There is a few small snack bars on the street parallel to the beach. The prices are low.

There is an ice cream shop too. The restaurant on this street has a limited menu but the food is fast and tasty.

You can walk down the main steps toward the center of town. Don't worry about the name of anything, this is a very small town and everything is set around each other almost as though you walked in a circle.

There is an amazing pastry shop with local sweets and bread.

walking further you will see a square with outside shops and a restaurant. This is a more formal restaurant.

The market square has shopping. You can purchase beach items, towels, souvenirs, ceramics, linens, clothing, handmade dresses, toys, and soccer jerseys.

There is a small vegetable and fruit stand too.

Across the street is the camping area.

I cannot make this up (September 2023)

Humberto and I headed to our favorite local beach. We saw a new beach sign for the beach next to ours. So we turned onto the road taking a long very long dirt road trimmed in large windmills

We finally parked and walked onto the beach. It had @ 5 people on it. One man was fishing, a young couple lying on a towel under an umbrella, and 2 men sitting alone

Naked!

Omg!

We started to walk and search the beach for shells and stones when we noticed a few more people

All nude.

We have experienced topless beaches but this was our 1st Nud$ beach.

It has been a mile from us for 36 years of visiting our favorite beach and never knew it was a n@ de beach. There was no sign that said n$de

So who thinks I have tan lines?

This beach is located between Tocha and Mira.
